Wish You Were Here

A year after my father’s passing, I found myself camping in the kind of peaceful, natural setting he loved. As part of an art project, I created cyanotypes from leaves and branches I gathered along a creek, where the water moved with the same quiet constancy as my memories of him. The cyan-blue prints, shaped by sunlight and nature, became a way to reflect his presence, even in his absence. Laying them on the ground, I photographed them amid the fallen leaves, connecting the fleeting beauty of the natural world with the enduring impact he left behind. The title, "Wish You Were Here," speaks to the bittersweet ache of his absence, felt most deeply in the spaces we shared.
